The genus Eurydactylodes

At present, three species of this genus are known to exist. Their main range comprises the island of New Caledonia. These geckos are predominantly shrub-dwellers which do not retire to hiding-places even at day-time.

The animals invariably inhabit moist rainforests and similar gallery forests lining the rivers. The females usually lay two soft-shelled eggs which are buried in moist substrates.
