| My name is Friedrich Wilhelm Henkel; I have been keeping and breeding geckos for more than 30 years, and i am looking forward to presenting an overview of these fascinating lizards to an interested public. In my opinion, commuciting one's personal experience to other herpetohiles is of great importance. | ||
| However, the data presented on these pages have not alwys been collected by me. A large bulk of information has been contributed by befriended gecko-keepers. | PRO DOMO: The photos do not invariably show geckos I am keeping myself. Many of them were shot on voyages or contributed by friends (many thanks again!). This large collection of photos has only been ralized thank to the co-operation of other gecko-keeprs. For example, the Australian and New Zealand species were all photographed either in the wild or in the terrariums of befriended herpetophiles. | ||
| I do not possess any of the said species, noir can I procure these animals. As I am constantly contacted in this context, I recommend studying the programs of the annual International Meeting of Gecko-Keepers where you will possibly get a chance to purchase or change the species you are looking for. I am mainly keeping and breeding New Caledonian species, and I am studying the phenomena connected with temperature-dependent sex determination (see www.rops-ev.de ). | ||
